Harper was an excellent addition to our program, and even though our time working together on ABC Radio Melbourne Saturday Breakfast was brief, he demonstrated an innate and intuitive skill for live radio production.

Despite having basically no time to brief him on the workflow of the show, he jumped straight into the job with enthusiasm, and contributed significantly throughout the morning in ways that not only showed his substantial talent, but genuinely lifted the quality of it.

In particular, Harper dealt with a delicate matter with one of our guests, taking the time to clarify a sensitive part of their story before putting them to air while under pressure; he also wrote several scripts, edited up audio on the fly and shared a large chunk of the talkback load.

All this was done without having worked on Saturday Breakfast before, which shows his natural ability to learn quickly. Our presenter, Alice Zaslavsky, was also extremely impressed with his efforts.

On top of it all, Harper is delightful company, clearly passionate about audio creation and radio, and I would happily work with him again, or recommend him for other production roles.
